Japan 11D10N Itinerary (Osaka, Kyoto, Kanazawa, Shirakawa-go, Takayama Mount Fuji, Tokyo): Overview + How much does a trip to Japan cost?

by - 01 June

OVERVIEW
(Do note that this was my planned itinerary - do check out my IG stories highlights for recommendations of food which we've tried along the way
Those food listed in this itinerary are mostly recommendations from friends/online)

Few food places we've tried that is not in the blog (didn't take much pictures / on IG stories highlight):
Matsuya (similar to Sukiya but cheaper LOL)
Sukiya!! (It's like their fast food chain, super cheap and yumz Jap food, the curry is soooo good!! I think SG & MY also have Sukiya around, but in Jap, it was like $4-$6/dish only)
7-11's food!! (especially the beef croquette)

A few other food recommendations added to my future list:
虎と龍 日本橋店 - Traditional Ramen shop https://goo.gl/maps/JTCruYAQwRC7pjLm6
Yokozuna Ramen https://goo.gl/maps/b4Lw3PWhADpS9tsb9

A rough breakdown of how much we had spent on this 11D10N trip to Japan! Note that all $$ are per pax & in Singapore Dollars (S$)
Well, it is not cheap for Asia countries, however,  it was worth every penny. Actually for us to spend $2k/pax for a 2 weeks trip is actually considerably cheap compared to most of my other peers who easily spend at least $3-$4k/pax.
& be mindful that we had around 4 luxury meals that amounted to S$60-80 for a meal & we stayed at a ryokan style hotel with private shared onsen!!
& our transport (bus + train) is even cheaper than getting a 7-day JR pass (S$350) & we traveled to many places.

After roughly planning out the places, I realize that JR passes do not cover most of the subways in Kyoto/Osaka/Tokyo. & most of the traveling from 1 city to another is cheaper on buses & takes around the same duration.

On this website: https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2357.html you can actually find all the different passes that Japan offer! We did not get any of them cause I calculated that by paying for individual fare prices from stations to stations are actually cheaper. It is just that my itinerary doesn't require much getting up and down many different stops, but it might be useful & cheaper for you 😁

1 of the passes we actually got was this Tokyo Subway 48-hour ticket that can be used on Tokyo Metro & Toei Subway (which is good enough considering it covers all the places we wanted to go)

Another pass we got was this 2 days sightseeing bus pass that travels around Kawaguchiko-Saiko. It cost ¥1500/pass. Even though we only toured around Kawaguchiko for 1 day, we had to get this, because by paying for an individual bus ride to the places we wanted to go, it would have cost at least ¥230-¥900/ride.
